I dozed and watched the night revealing.
In fact I found it quite appealing:
The stars turned inside out the ceiling,
the moon revealed a secret feeling.
I woke and thought: This is not right.
No power to control God’s sight
God given by the light of night.
That might of Mammon is to fight.
I turned and saw the other way
on children smiling, happy, gay,
believing night conforms to day.
And I decided here to stay.
